Bob Saget eerily joked about dying of COVID on podcast days before death

Bob Saget made a foreboding joke about his own death on a podcast recorded just days before he died in an Orlando hotel room. 

The Full House star appeared on the podcast A Corporate Time with Tom & Dan on January 5, where he discussed having previously contracted COVID-19. 

"It is not good, it does not feel good," he said of the virus. 

"I don't know if I had Delta or... I might have had a combo. Maybe at one point they [Delta and Omicron] were working together." 

Talking about performing stand up comedy during the pandemic, Saget explained audience numbers at his shows fluctuated, before making a gag about dying from COVID-19. 

"If it's half-full, I go, 'Oh, that's disappointing,' then all of a sudden 200 people show up because they decide at the last minute, 'What the hell, when are we going to see Bob? He might die from COVID, let's go see him'."

Saget didn't disclose when he was infected with the virus, but his reference to the Omicron variant suggests it happened relatively recently. 

The actor and comedian, who died aged 65, was discovered unresponsive at the Ritz-Carlton on January 9, where he was touring with his show I Don't Do Negative Comedy. 

Authorities confirmed Saget's death, announcing there were no signs of trauma, foul play or drug use. The cause of death remains unknown.
