Supertri League concludes 2024 season in NEOM, Saudi Arabia
The Supertri League for elite athletes reached its conclusion on Sunday, November 3, 2024, in NEOM, Saudi Arabia. Choosing NEOM in Saudi Arabia as its season finale, Supertri also kicked-off the NEOM Beach Games in the country.
Taking the titles in NEOM, and part of the Crown Racing squad, Georgia Taylor-Brown and Hayden Wilde secured the 2024 individual and team titles.
Although neither Taylor-Brown or Wilde won their own races outright at the Grand Finale in NEOM, their performances across the five-date league were enough to secure the overall women’s and men’s titles, as well as the team title ahead of Podium Racing.
Chris McCormack’s Crown Racing team became the overall series winners in 2024 ahead of Tim Don’s Podium Racing, scooping both bragging rights and a US$375,000 prize pot for their success.
Supertri’s partnerships with NEOM, the Saudi Triathlon Federation and local businesses, has reportedly driven a 24% increase in national triathlon participation in Saudi Arabia and a 6000% rise in viewership since 2022. The event organiser aims to build on this success and is adds that it is committed to engaging new markets and expanding triathlon’s reach within the Middle East, with the race broadcasted internationally, allowing fans worldwide to witness this year’s champions being crowned.
