Andy Lee announces engagement to long-term girlfriend Rebecca Harding: ‘We don’t care what people say!’
Comedian and TV presenter Andy Lee has announced his engagement to long-term girlfriend Rebecca Harding after 10 years together, much to the delight of fans.
Lee, 42, shared the news on the latest Hamish And Andy podcast released at midnight on May 1.
After the Melbourne-based Lee revealed he had asked Harding to marry him, co-host Hamish Blake joked: “Is it a bit quick? That’s all I want to ask.”

Blake then added, more seriously, he and his wife had “cried” with happiness over the news.
Harding, 33, then posted a photo of herself wearing a diamond ring on Instagram, captioned: “People keep saying we’ve rushed into this, but we don’t care what people say!”
Lee famously met Harding in 2014 when she was working at a cafe, and he asked her out by writing his personal email on a napkin — a moment he recreated in his proposal as he knelt and presented her with another napkin.
“When I was down there, I stayed on one knee and I gave her another napkin — because when I first met her at the cafe, I wrote on a napkin my details — and I gave her another napkin,” Lee said.
This time the napkin read “Will you marry me?” and was accompanied by an engagement ring.
The couple first went public with their relationship at the 2015 Australian Open.
Engagement rumours had been swirling for years, including most recently in 2020 when the pair shared a photo of them embracing at Harding’s 30th birthday.
