If you’ve loved listening to audiobooks as an adult, now your kids can get in on the action with Audible, a leading creator and provider of premium audio storytelling, launching a new Audible Original retelling of A Dream for Every Night, performed by Aussie TV icon, Emma Watkins.

Created to take children from playtime to bedtime, the 40 short stories will inspire children’s imagination, as Emma takes listeners from funny farm stories to underwater explorations to horse riding adventures.

“It’s been such a joy to be part of this Audible Original, encouraging creativity and growing children’s imaginations.

There are so many benefits of storytelling for children’s development, and I’m looking forward to sharing these enchanting stories from A Dream for Every Night that may be woven into families’ nighttime routines.”

Emma Watkins

Audible currently starts at A$8.99 per month, with a 30 day free trial available for new customers. The premium plus plan costs A$16.45 per month and includes 1 credit per month to buy any audiobook, which you keep, even if you cancel. You also get to listen to thousands of additional audiobooks and originals from the Plus Catalogue, along with exclusive sales and discounts.

The launch follows Audible’s announcement of new Kids Profiles; a child-friendly listening space where parents and caregivers can easily share curated audio titles with children, ensuring that audio content can be enjoyed in a parent-controlled environment from the Audible app.

With just a couple of taps, parents can curate the perfect listens for playtime, car rides and bedtime routines, and choose from the thousands of children’s audiobooks, podcasts and Originals available on Audible.

While Disney-lovers can dive into new Audible Originals from Disney’s Frozen, Disney & Pixar’s Cars and Star Wars, parents can journey back and rediscover the magic of Harry Potter and the wizarding world with their children.

Audible’s catalog of children’s content also includes Sesame Workshop’s The Sesame Street Podcast with Foley and Friends, Hasbro’s Peppa Pig’s Play-A-Long Podcast, Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?, plus favourites from Andy Griffiths, Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl.

“We know that keeping the kids entertained isn’t always an easy task, especially when it comes to bedtime or long summer road trips. With Australia’s greatest range of audiobooks for kids and their families, we hope Audible can take some of those speed bumps off the road for parents!

We know our listeners want to share their love of listening with the children in their lives, and Audible is the perfect screen-free option to spark creativity for playtime, and to wind down at the end of the day as part of the bedtime routine”.

Karen Appathurai-Wiggins, Head of Regional Content for Audible, APAC
