Utah Jazz Vs. Los Angeles Lakers Blog: Live Updates, Analysis, And ...

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz controlled the action for most of the night, surprising the Lakers with a 131-119 win. Lauri Markkanen led five Jazz players in double figures with 32 points on 11-of-18 shooting.
The Jazz (13-40) hosted the new-look Los Angeles Lakers (32-20) at Delta Center on Wednesday, February 12. LA enters the night riding the high of a six-game winning streak and sits fourth in the ultra-competitive Western Conference. The tanking Jazz are 14th in the West, one loss behind the New Orleans Pelicans.
Los Angeles has already beaten the Jazz three times this season. On December 1, the Lakers won 105-104 at Delta Center.

Tonight’s game is five-time All-NBA Luka Dončić’s first road game since LA stunned not just the NBA world but the sports universe by swapping Anthony Davis for the 25-year-old generational talent.
Already one of the league’s best creators and shot-makers, Dončić all-time great LeBron James, forming a duo that many around the league believe significantly raises the Lakers’ ceiling now and in the future. With James turning 40 in December, analysts think Dončić can ease the burden on James, leaving both fresh for a deep playoff run.
Unfortunately for the fast-falling Jazz, Utah was the sacrificial lamb on Sunday night. Dončić started the game, adding 14 points, five boards, and four assists in his debut. James looked reinvigorated with his new Slovenian running mate, finishing with 24 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds in the 132-112 win.

There might be a 75 pound weight difference between Cody Williams and Luka Doncic who are guarding each other.

Not easy to block Luka Doncic's jumper, but Walker Kessler gets it (his 4th first half block) and then finishes with the lob on the other end.
He's been terrific.
