With travel restrictions a thing of the past throughout the Asian region, Jetstar Asia is steadily rebuilding its international network by resuming old routes and adding new ones. This week, the low-cost carrier announced it was adding two routes with direct flights from Singapore to Thailand and the Philippines.
Expanding the Southeast Asian network
The two routes will connect Jetstar Asia's home base at Singapore Changi Airport to the Thai beach resort of Krabi and Clark in the heart of the Philippines. Jetstar Asia's new CEO, John Simeone said adding the two routes reinforced Jetstar Asia's commitment to expanding its Southeast Asian network and providing enhanced connectivity and a wide range of travel options for its customers.
He added that the services to Clark are back by popular demand, coming not only from holidaymakers but also from those wanting to visit family and friends.
"Krabi is an exciting new addition for Jetstar Asia, less than two hours away, it's the perfect holiday destination for those wanting to enjoy stunning white beaches, world-class rock-climbing experiences, marine parks, rainforests and outdoor activities. We're excited to add these two popular destinations, responding to demand, providing our customers with more incredible low-cost travel options and supporting the travel and tourism industries in these two critical markets."
Commencing on June 7, Jetstar Asia will fly six weekly return services from Singapore Changi to Krabi International Airport (KBV), located in the resort town of Krabi, around 32 kilometers (20 miles) from the tourist mecca of Phuket Island. On Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday the 1:50-hour service is scheduled to depart Changi at 20:10 and arrive in Krabi at 21:00, with the return flight leaving KBV at 21:40 and arriving in Singapore at 00:30 the next day.
On Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, it will leave Singapore at 0720 and arrive in Krabi at 08:10, returning to Singapore at 11:40. It will be operated with an Airbus A320-200 operating every day except for Monday, delivering more than 60,000 low fares each year between the two popular Asian destinations.
Resuming flights to Clark International
On June 16, Jetstar Asia will resume flights from Singapore to Clark International Airport (CRK) with four weekly return services before increasing to five times weekly starting October 18, 2024.
