JK Rowling's credit barely features in the new Fantastic Beasts trailer amid an ongoing transphobia row that has seen the her get cancelled.
The trailer for 'Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore', released yesterday, features captions 'Warner Bros invites you' rather than 'J.K Rowling invites you' used in previous teasers.
Rowling's name appears in a minor publishing note at the end of the new trailer, despite her having co-written and co-produced the film, set for release in April 2022.
It comes amid the latest row over the Harry Potter writer's comments on transgender rights after she criticised Police Scotland for saying it will record rapes by offenders with a penis as being committed by a woman if the attacker 'identifies as a female'.
Rowling responded to Police Scotland, tweeting: 'War is Peace. Freedom is Slavery. Ignorance is Strength. The Penised Individual Who Raped You Is a Woman.'
Her comments were a nod to George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four, a dystopian novel about a regime that manages to invert the truth to control its people.
JK Rowling's name has been 'erased' from prominent credits in the trailer for the new Fantastic Beasts film due for release in April 2022
The author, 56, has faced accusations of transphobia after she mocked an online article in June 2020 which used the words 'people who menstruate' instead of 'women'.
She later defended herself against the claims in a passionate essay but has continued to face criticism.
In September 2020, she faced renewed calls of transphobia after it was revealed the the villain in her latest book, Troubled Blood - written under Rowling's pseudonym Robert Galbraith - is a male serial killer who dresses as a woman to slay his victims.
An early review of the 900-page book by The Daily Telegraph - in which the critic states the book's 'moral seems to be: never trust a man in a dress' - sparked immediate backlash online.
In the wake of these remarks, Harry Potter actors Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Eddie Redmayne, who stars in her Fantastic Beasts films criticised the author for her remarks.

And in March, Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the beloved film series admitted that he felt he needed to stand up for transgender people following Rowling's remarks.
He said that while he was 'not an authority' on the debate, he felt he had a responsibility to speak out in support of the trans community as 'silence is louder'.
And Rowling is a notable absence from the upcoming Harry Potter 20th anniversary reunion in light of her views.
A release said it would feature stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint - who have not made a public appearance together since the premiere of the last premiere of the franchise, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2, in July 2011, as well as filmmaker Chris Columbus, who directed the blockbuster film.
But the release does not mention the person responsible for the creation of the characters, author JK Rowling, who has been criticized for her views on transgender people.
They said Rowling will be shown in archival footage from the creation of the first movie, but will not make a new appearance in the special.
