Captain, Lionel Messi, delivered a record-breaking performance, propelling them to victory with a brace and an assist. Messi’s stellar display made MLS history, setting a new record for the most goal contributions in a player’s first seven games of the season.
Messi also became the first player to record multiple goal contributions in five consecutive matches. Goals from second-half substitutes Benjamin Cremaschi and Luis Suárez sealed an impressive victory for the team.
Inter Miami playing in front of a record-setting away crowd for the second time this season, following the previous attendance record set against Sporting Kansas City on April 13. A staggering 65,612 fans filled Gillette Stadium, establishing a new attendance record for a New England Revolution home game.
