Rafael Nadals wife revealed as ace seeks Tennis history

With both Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic missing from the Australian Open for various reasons, Rafael Nadal is the most successful player in Melbourne.

With both Federer and Djokovic missing, Nadal secured a spot in the final vs Daniil Medvedev.

In a Melbourne slugfest, Nadal claimed that record-breaking 21st grand slam in 5hrs 24mins 2-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5.

But who is the wife of the record-breaking Rafael Nadal, Maria?

Rafael Nadal wife revealed

Nadal has been in a relationship with fellow Spaniard Maria Francisca Perello since 2005.

Back then he was a 19-year-old – who marked out what the future had in store at the French Open.

On his birthday, he knocked the great Federer out at the semi-finals, going onto win his first career Grand Slam.

It would be the first of 13 titles at Roland Garros. Between 2005 and 2014, Nadal only failed to win the French Open in 2009.

The right-handed Nadal would keep his relationship with his future wife quiet for the next decade or so.

Perello is a business graduate – who currently works as the project director for the foundation set up in Nadal’s name.

In February 2019, their engagement was announced.

The two married in October of that year.

No children for the Nadals

As of January 2022, Rafael Nadal and his wife Maria are yet to have any children.

Nadal has addressed this – saying that he and his wife would like to have children at some point – after he has retired.

“If I didn’t see myself playing tennis… then possibly, I could have had children before,” he told ATPTour.com in 2020.

“It’s not something that just depends on you.

“I love children and I would like to form part of a family, and at the age we are now we’re not going to wait five years.”
